This is an example of how two XML outputs from two different web services can be mapped to the same Midas XML and thereby be combined into a cross-searching heritage portal.
For this example to work it has been dicided that without streching the imagination to much both FMIS SMR records and Sintana glass locations can be translated into Midas monuments.
The child elements which will be used for these two data sets are appellation name and identifier
The Midas mapping of the ARK project is tried on the Sintana dataset.
The records known as Sintanas (findspots for glass) are translated to Midas monuments with the field Place name as appallation - name and the item values as appallation - identifier.
The Midas mapping of the FMIS SMR is also based on monuments.
The records translated to Midas monuments with the object - label as appallation - name and the object - id as appallation - identifier.
The FMIS output in Midas XML can be viewed on the FMIS webservice by choosing Midas XML as the output method
