Knitting in German

with No Comments

This evening I went to a new knitting group. A real German strickentreff at my local Wollkorb (wool basket) shop around the corner. I am really enjoying having so many yarn shops so close by. I have never lived anywhere before where this was the case. I also have two yarn shops in walking distance from my work!!!!

I got a bit further on my Little Sister Dress by Tora Frøseth for Bess. The yarn is one of Easyknits BFL called Pebble Splash. Its a 4ply and its so nice to knit with.

Oh and I learnt to say knit (rechts) and purl (links)!

While I was at the shop I bought a bit of Natural Merino for some socks for Bess. Its getting cold here.

I am off course doing 2 toe-up socks at the same time using Judy’s Magic cast on and Priscilla Gibson-Roberts short row heels from her wonderful book ‘Simple Socks, plain and fancy’.

This combination of the three methods has over the last couple of years become my absolute favorite way of knitting socks. No second sock syndrome. No running out of yarn. No short row toes.
