Knitting vests for bump

with 2 Comments

Lately I have been knitting a few vests for the bump. I am rather into anything stripy at the moment or just anything colourful. We have decided not to find out the gender of the bump and I’m not too fussed with the whole colour coding thing so I have gone for putting loads of colours together in various ways. Its not for everyone but we rather like it.

These two are a stripy variation of Sam Lamb’s Baby Professor Vest. Its such a cool and simple knit and lends itself very nicely to stripes. The bigger one is after the original pattern and the smaller one is one I adapted to what I think is a size newborn. However, I am still scared that it might be too small.

I used the Pebble pattern from The Thrifty Knitter for this one. The pattern suggested homespun so I used some homespun I had made out of pure Jacob’s fleece and some fun yellow buttons from the lovely Cathy’s shop in Kolding.

Finally, an updated picture of the bump, courtesy of my sister-in-law!
