Lace Flower Brooch: Sunflower

When I was younger my absolute favourite flower was sunflowers. I always said that I would rather have a guy give me a sunflower than a rose. Sadly I was 14 so there was no chance of any guys buying me either sunflowers or roses. But luckily I had some lovely aunts who knew that I loved sunflowers and gave them to me on special occasions. Needless to say sunflowers still hold a very special place in my heart.
This is why I have chosen to design a pattern for creating sunflowers in bobbin lace. I have made two versions so far. One has a button decorated with sheet music and the other has a plain black button.
