Making Danish Christmas Goodies

with 2 Comments

I wanted to make some Danish Christmas specialities with a little twist. So here is something for those who love liquorice and for those who don’t. Most Danes do :-)

You begin with raw softened nougat

Into which you stir liquorice powder

Or cinnamon
image

Leave the nougat in the fridge for 20 min and roll little balls of it. For the liquorice ones you can place a soft liquorice in the middle.

Place the nougat balls in the fridge for another 20 min

Roll out some marcipan

Wrap marcipan around nougat

Temper some chocolate and mix in liquorice or cinnamon powder.

Roll marcipan balls in chocolate and leave to dry
image

Once nearly dry sprinkle cinnamon sugar or liquorice powder on them

Enjoy :-)

It's fun with the liquorice in the middle but they are a bit on the big side and you can't bite over the middle.

Perfect! We just discussed how to make some 'konfekt' with liquorice :-) Do you prefer them with or without the soft liquorice in the middle? They don't get too big?
