Moving day

with No Comments

Today is moving day for us. We have packed down all our stuff and are moving our little home from Munich (see post about Munich as a liveable city) and back to Denmark. I wanted to share a few of my latest photos with you from the Instagram feed from my last couple of weeks in Munich. Yes, I have been stashing yarn, big time! 🙂

This is a piece of embroidery I made for my husband for our second (i.e. cotton) anniversary. It came with us to Munich and now it is coming with us back. For the next couple of months we will be sharing home with my parents. It will be a challenge for all of us I’m sure, but I also really look forward to it. I know that it will be a great experience for my daughter too.

So I’m still stashing for my patchwork quilt idea. The latest thought I had was that I also needed some typical Bavarian Dirndl fabric in there. Just because, you know! It’s the yellow and the green ones.

The last half year or so I have been totally in love with a new shop that has opened in Munich. It is of course Die Mercerie, a beautiful yarn/craft shop and cafe. A couple of days ago I posted a longer piece about the shop and the concept. So the 4 photos above are just a little look at my recently purchased stash from there.

On Saturday, my last saturday in Munich a friend from my knitting group took me out to one of Munich’s biggest attractions for yarn aficionados, the Wollmeise shop in Pfaffenhofen. I bought some very nice yarn there but forgot to take a proper photo of it before it was packed down. If you are interested and you are on Ravelry you can always check out my stash. It was like a teal wonderland with many other bright colours thrown in.

The last place I have been stashing up was at Kunst und Spiel by the Giselastraße ubahn stop where they stock the lovely Drachenwolle yarn.

That’s my tour de fibre! I am a bit unsure when I will be able to post again with the unpacking and settling in but I will try to keep using Instagram where you can find me as Eddieduckling. If you don’t use Instagram the photos also go to my Facebook page and Twitter (@HenrietteRoued).

See you soon,

Eddie
