OWOP – The top

I have decided to do Tilly’s One Week One Pattern project this week and enter a top and a dress that my sister helped me make from the Ottobre design 2/2009 – 6 pattern for a nursing top. The black top was made first and then she made a grey dress by adding some length to the pattern. They are great for nursing little Bess.

Homemade eastereggs

Since we are having Bess’ welcome to the world party at easter I decided to try and make some homemade easter eggs with different fillings. I am a great fan of chocolate with filling.

image

I first prepared some marzipan with different tastes. Liqourice, cranberry, kalua and elderflower. I also prepared some nougat with liqourice powder. Liqourice and chocolate is a great flavour combination and its very popular in Denmark at the moment but it is not to everyone’s taste so a I will do other tastes as well.

I rolled the marzipan into balls, made a dent in them, put a smaller nougat ball inside, covered it with the marzipan and rolled the whole thing into an egg which went back into the fridge.

I then covered them with chocolate.

And decorated them.

This is how they all look finished and packed in a tin. They taste wonderful too :-)

Cooking with friends and making nappies

This weekend I did a lot of cooking. A lot more than usual. A friend got the fantastic idea of getting together and cooking in a group to stock our freezers. I love cooking big portions for the freezer and this was even better because I made two huge dishes but brought home 10 and a load of buns. Yummy !!

Some of the finished food in my freezer.

This last week I have also been sewing nappies for Bess.

Gardening 2012

This year I finally got a part in an allotment ( read my mothers garden). today we began sowing seeds in the green house.

image

We sowed salads and onions to use as spring onions in a months time…

image

I also sowed some basil so I can make a big batch of pesto to freeze.

Here is a little picture of some flowers in the garden.

I also took a picture of the kitchen garden. I want to take a series of picture from the same angle throughout the year.
