Thrifty weekend – more sweaters and stamp organising

Over the weekend I did a bit of thrift shopping with my husband. The main purpose of this was actually to get him some jeans, but we didn’t find anything suitable. Oh well! Since we were there anyway I may have found a couple of goodies for myself. Ups!

The first thing I will share is these three sweaters. The top one is a dusty teal cotton, the bottom one a pink wool and the right hand one is a green cotton. The first two are going to be unraveled and re-used as yarn I think. I have great plans for knitting a toy pig out of the pink yarn.
The last one however, I chose for the pretty cable/lace pattern on the front. With this one I am planning to make two cushions using the pink silk below as a backing. One cushion will have a front with green cable knit and the other will use the plain stockinette stitch back of the sweater as a front. It’s going to be a bit like this one here on refashionoso, but just with a different back.

Another thing I found was these great stamp albums. Last year I bought a lot of stamps as a part of my stash – mainly to make the stamp bowl. As I have quite a few stamps left over I decided it was time to get organised so I spent the entire Sunday evening sorting and colour-coding the stamps and add them to the albums.

Already coveting the cushion, pink and green are my absolute favourite colours, and silk … my favourite fabric. JEALOUS!

Thank you Dee. I’ll bring it along to show off one friday when I get it done.
