I got a new sewing machine and this time its actually new new! Its a 30th birthday and congrats on the phd viva present all in one frpm my parents. Its the Singer 160 years anniversary model and I love it :-0 so much.
One of my first projects was this cushion set for Bess’ Trip Trap high chair (probably wont mean much to you non-danes but I think you can use the instructions for any other high chair as well.
First step is to measure out and maybe make a pattern of the areas you want to cushion.
I wanted to cushion the back ( a simple rectangular tube), the seat ( made a pattern for this) and the front brace ( two simple rectangular tubes).
I began by cutting out some pieces to fill with padding – here you can use any material left overs you wany. For the brace I used one layer of padding material, for the back I used two layers and for the seat three layers. The amount of layers depends on how thick your padding is to begin with 🙂
Next step is to fill the fabric pouches with padding to made small pillows for the front brache.
Here is a picture of the pillows for the back and the seat.
Next you sew pillow cases for the pillows. You can use the same patterns you made for the pillows.
The finished chair.
