What to do if you don’t have a Christmas tree!

This year we decided not to have a Christmas tree, so I had to find a creative was of displaying my new ornaments. I went with a vase with a block of Oasis or florist foam with fern in. You can also use fir is you have that in your garden.

I bought these vintage glass ornaments this year. I thought they were quite a catch.

My friend Cecile has been having a knitted Christmas. She knitted this heart for me with some of my yarn and I just had to add it to the ‘tree’. You should see her new knitted stars. The pattern will be out soon.

Again an idea from the great book ‘Playing with Books’ that I reviewed in 2010.

Finally, a Danish style Christmas star that I made quite a few of this Christmas. This one is made out of the pages of a map. I just love the vintage feel of them.
